Program Description
This course is designed to provide Employee Concern Program and Human Resource managers and professionals with tools to determine if retaliation is a factor in a specific employment dispute or within a work environment.  The course will begin with the outline of employee’s rights and responsibilities to express concerns that may impact the environment, public health and safety or other regulated work place issues.  The degree of time spent on the basics of employee rights and management’s legal responsibilities will depend on the level of experience of course participants.    
Following basic employment law orientation, the course will focus on investigative techniques for responding to specific complaints of harassment, intimidation, retaliation or discrimination (HIRD) as well as assessments of work environments that are the subject of multiple HIRD issues. Attendees will develop investigative work plans designed to determine whether there is evidence of HIRD or the existence of a "chilling effect.”  The course will provide basic definitions and explanations in the employment law field as applied to specific case scenarios.  Actual cases will be utilized as training tools.  
Completion of the course should prepare attendees to receive and respond to allegations of HIRD, develop an investigative plan, and collect necessary information to form conclusions and recommendations.

If that number is not achieved we will issue refunds to registered participants.Delay confirming flights until we have met that minimum. You will be notified as soon as the minimum number of attendees is achieved or we will make a determination of the final attendance numbers by the August 15th date.
